Annual Rummage Sale
Each year in June we hold a rummage sale. Our community supports this project by donating items for sale and donating time to price items, set up the sale, work during the sale, and clean up after the sale. Proceeds from the sale go to support the various ministries of New Hope UMC.
Annual Stewardship Campaign
Your Stewardship Team is so grateful for your generous response to our Commitment Sunday here at New Hope United Methodist Church. We celebrated a wonderful day on March 7 with our guest preacher Rev. James Preston leading us in worship, and a delicious lunch afterwards. God has been inviting us to step out in exciting and faithful ways as a church family, and we are grateful you are willing to join with us on the journey! We are so pleased to report that a total of $57,920 has been committed to this church for 2010, for the months of March through December. If we add in what folks would have also committed for the first two months of this year, this represents a yearly commitment of $69,514! This is a 10% increase over financial commitments for 2009.
Scrip
We are enrolled in Scrip, a fundraising program by which we earn credits for every gift card purchased from a participating retailer. Watch for the announcements about Scrip Sunday, the deadline for ordering gift cards each month. Delivery of gift cards follows approximately two weeks after ordering. Plan to buy gift cards for your favorite stores each month and a percentage of your purchase goes to New Hope. For a list of participating retailers, pick up a copy at church or visit the Scrip website. If you have questions, contact Helen Murphy.
Ink Cartridge Recycling
Please recycle your visibly undamaged HP, Dell, Lexmark, Brother, Epson, Samsung, Kodak, Sharp or Canon ink and toner cartridges by bringing them to New Hope! We will take them to Office Max (we can turn in up to 20 each month) and receive $3 in rewards credit for each cartridge in return. We use these credits to help us purchase office supplies, mainly for our printers, which are used for printing everything that comes out of the New Hope office. Thank you for your support!
Souper Supper
This is our annual fall fundraiser. It features a dinner of all-you-can-eat homemade soups, salad, bread and desserts. To round the evening off, dinner is followed by an entertaining musical revue. Door prizes are also a highlight. In 2009, Souper Supper raised about $1000 to support the ministries at New Hope.
